MEET OUR CORE TEAM
We believe in working extremely hard and then playing even harder. Our headquarters are registered in Estonia, but we’re a fully remote company and our core members are based all over the world–wherever the adventure takes us.

Martina is the CEO and founder at The Action Sports Translator. After starting her career in marketing translation in 2010 and launching a successful software localization agency a few years later, she was horrified at the quality of multilingual content in the outdoor industry and started TAST to fill a clear gap in the market. TAST is the world’s first and only full-scale translation agency for the outdoor industry, providing brands with a sports translation service that truly gets them.
Recognized as a localization industry influencer multiple years in a row and co-founder and localization manager at Protect Our Winters Italy, when she isn’t working, you can usually find her hiking with her cats, learning the ropes of kitesurfing, climbing a mountain or snowboarding down the other side.
After spending years in London working a career in management, Fil decided he’d had enough of the big city hustle and took a sabbatical to slow-travel around Europe in a self-converted van to climb for a year. Not long after, he joined our fully remote team so he could keep doing what he loves while running our entire finance department.
Alongside having a knack for numbers, Fil loves being outdoors, especially when it comes to spending time on the rock. Sport climbing is what gets him ticking the most, but he also loves bouldering, running, hiking, and snowboarding.
Marina is our admin and marketing assistant, supporting us in multiple areas and making sure our business backend is well taken care of: from keeping our virtual office organized, to updating our website, liaising with our SEO manager and web tech, managing our social media, supporting our marketing efforts and more.
Born and based in Venezuela, Marina has a big passion for all things outdoors. When not working, she loves spending time in nature, swimming and pushing her limits one CrossFit session at a time.
Anna is our translation vendor manager, and her role involves selecting, vetting, onboarding and taking good care of all of our freelancers. She works closely with the rest of the team and helps us put together custom
teams for our clients, alongside setting up processes and document operations.
Italy-born and based, after living in Scotland for some time, Anna now lives in the north of Italy with her family. When not working, she loves taking her two little ones hiking and on other mountain adventures.
As the former content marketing manager at Viator, a TripAdvisor company, Patricia is our content & copy manager: she leads our content and SEO unit, helping us create and scale international copywriting, content writing and SEO strategy projects for our clients. She also selects, onboards and manages our copy and content writers.
A snowboarder, kitesurfer, hiker, horse rider and generally outdoor enthusiast, she spends long periods slow traveling in her Land Rover to find the best kiting and hiking spots with her husband.
Originally from French-speaking Belgium, Zoé is a senior project manager and account manager, working very closely with our project managers, translators and clients to ensure projects are executed to the highest standards–always with a smile!
Zoé has been living all over Europe and Brazil, and currently spends her time between Greece, Portugal, Spain, France and other Southern European countries with her partner, climbing and enjoying the outdoors while running our projects remotely. She also spent a season out on the saddle leading cycling trips around Europe.
With a background in localization, project management and sales, Paulina originally started working with us as a regular translator for one of our main clients in 2020. Fast forward two years later, she joined our team as a project manager and later as an account manager, taking care of some of our biggest and most challenging accounts.
Originally from Poland, Paulina currently lives in Portugal to catch as many waves as possible in her free time.
Other than surfing and kitesurfing, her biggest passion is trail running and she recently completed her first marathon–but she also enjoys snowboarding, sustainable living and slow-traveling with her self-converted vans and partner.
Mario is one of our translation project managers. He takes care of some of our most demanding and challenging accounts, processing hundreds of requests every week and liaising with our translation specialists, selecting the most suitable profiles for each client and content type.
His greatest passion is CrossFit: whenever he’s not working, you’ll find him at the gym driving himself to his absolute limits. That, and he also loves horses.
Born and raised in Italy, Alexa manages translation projects for most of our Italian accounts plus other very international complex ones, working very closely with our account managers.
Alexa lives in the Italian Alps and, when she’s not working, loves spending time in the mountains – aka her backyard: hiking in summer, downhill and cross-country skiing in winter. She’s also been dancing since she was a kid, so she’s happiest when she can combine her two passions.
Jorge manages projects for some of our most complex accounts, with a focus on winter sports and water sports brands. And that’s not a coincidence.
Born and raised in Galicia, Spain, Jorge has been living all over Europe for the past few years and is currently in the north of Italy, where he’s taking his climbing and skiing to the next level—though, coming from Galicia, his first love was surfing!
Italian-born but based in Portugal, Anna manages translation projects for multiple accounts and supports our content lead on writing projects, too. She loves being out in nature and is an avid hiker: her favorite hiking destinations are the Azore Islands and Madeira.
She also has a huge passion for Yoga, which she loves practicing outdoors, and is studying to become a Yoga teacher. Plus, she’s recently taken up surfing and kayaking.
